we are looking for a low cost coop for a small brood. We have taken a class in Clayton at Rodie in Clayton. We live in the Brentwood mailing code and live on 155 acres. Never raise chickens but have 3 grandson...well, the rest is history.

Have you tried your local craig's list. Often people have reported not only getting a cheap or free coop. but the advertiser threw in some birds and feed etc. Some folks decide chickens are not for them and just want them gone in a hurry.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves our chickens. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your coop and chickens.

I agree with drumstick diva. Craigslist is a wonderful place to look for a cheap (money wise) coop.

so glad you have joined us.

Good luck finding the coop. If you have concerns on one you can locate, you can post link or pic on the coops run or managing your flock forums with specifics of the flock you plan to get advice on if it will provide the protection and space you need.

Feel free to ask questions, good luck on your search.

Welcome if you have the time building a small coop can some times be less costly than buying one we just built a coop for 30 birds for under $500 and they love it so much room. When I looked to buy one they were $1000 or more
