Hi!
I live in Austin and am, for the first time, experimenting with a lot of self sufficiency type things. I have a rain barrel, worm bin, my very first garden (yikes!) and I just recently got three hens (yeah!)
We had chickens for a short while when I was growing up and I absolutely love them.
I especially absolutely love my new hens. They are the gold sex link ones from Callahans, and they're great! One is laying eggs (three today) and the other two should start soon.
This whole process is all new and exciting, I always have a lot of questions, but at the same time feel drowned in the variety of answers I get from people I know.
Sometimes I just have trouble deciding whats best for me and my situation. So I figured this would be a good way to start.
