Just figured I’d post for once! Been lurking for a few months as our free hens (black star) came in and I had questions. Well of the 6, 5 got eaten. Bob cat I think. If not fox or maybe both!
I reinforced the large run much smaller, and then bought 6 pulletts 10 weeks old (2 cochen and 4 eggers). I picked up a free silky rooster about the same time. About 4 weeks ago we got another free rooster (egger) and my wife found a nice mix just up the road. Rr bard rock and 2 astrolops a gold laced Wyandotte. The Wyandotte ended up being a great mom for my buddies eggers he bought the same day I bought mine. And we lost one of the eggers when we went away for the weekend.

So if you follow all my math and crappy spelling/garmer you’ll end up with 2 roosters and 10 hens/pulletts.

I meant to put my pictures on the bottom, but made it to the top! Oh well this is my flock at it’s peek!

G’Day from down under JMotuzick :frow Welcome!

There is something about a roosting picture that gets me every time. May be it is the fact that they are finally settling for the night and not getting into mischief anymore :p

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Hi and welcome to BYC :frow We're so happy that you've decided to join us:ya

Just some random shots. Thanks for all the welcomes! I’m in a couple tractor forums and know how much everyone loves pictures!
