Hi everyone. I've been lurking and decided to come out of the "coop" so to say. I am new to chickens although my SO isn't as he has had them in the past. We presently have about 25 with 3 very large "tractor" coops he has made with each being about 15' long. Wouldn't you know right after we got our first chicks the vet I worked for asked me if I knew anyone in the area that had chickens and he now has them too!!
We presently have some Rhode Island Red's, Barred Rock, Buff Orp's, Brahma's and Appenzeller's. The only ones old enough to lay are the App's who have to be the prettiest. We also have a very old Great Dane, cats and guinea pigs. Looking forward to learning all I can about chickens. I know I spend lots of time watching them!!
