New in San Antonio

Hi, I'm Courtney - the registered forum user in the family (my husband Chris reads but never posts and didn't register). We are expecting our firs three baby chicks this week - a Red Star, Barred Plymouth Rock, and a Light Brown Leghorn ordered from mypetchicken.com. I'm learning so much from other forum users, and doing lots of reading from books we got from the library. The brooder is all set, still working on the coop.

We have 1 4 year old daughter, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 snakes and in the past have also had a gerbil, hedgehogs, and a guinea pig. Before becoming a stay at home mom I was an assistant office manager in a vet clinic.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you're pretty 'read-up on your chickens. I have all of the breeds you mentioned. I will tell you that my barred rock is a bossy thing to the other chickens but a great gal to us, the red is a sweetheart and our leghorn is a nervous lady who will still take a mealworm from my hand

I'm wondering what the personalities of yours will be!
