Hi there! I just got 16 new chickies this week, and am having a blast already! This is my first experience with chickens, though I did hatch some eggs with my grandma when I was a little person. I am raising 10 to go to my MIL, and 6 will stay with me. I have 8 red sex-links, 4 BO's, and 4 light Brahmas (all pullets, hopefully!).
I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mtns of Virginia, only minutes from NC. I am trying very hard to convince POSSLQ to turn our 1 1/2 acres into a mini-farm, but so far it's only dogs, rabbits, and chickens. I'm planning a big veggie garden this year, as well.
When I started looking into chickens, BYC was the first link I found, and has been a great source of info already! Everyone is so friendly and helpful!
