My family and I are really new to the idea of raising chickens. My DH and I decided it would be both fun and very educational for our daughter to have a pet! Don't want the responsibility of a puppy/kitty just yet so we decided chickens would be the way to go + we really love eggs!! Thank goodness for the template on intro's since I am a newbie to forums as well. I hope to learn alot here from all of the experts. Thanks and I look forward to chatting with you all.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Absolutely new to the idea of chickens and so glad we decided this would be the first pet for our daughter! We don't have any peeps yet but have decided that 4 Buff Orpingtons would fit in well.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None
(3) What breeds do you have?
Planning on 4 buff Orpingtons in Early March
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
When we decided on chickens as our pet of choice we searched google for some info and were by far the best site out there.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Love to garden, snowboarding and remodeling our home.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a wonderful husband and a beautiful 17 month old daughter. I love being a wife and mother. We don't have any other pets yet but if the chickens work out maybe a puppy will be in our future. I am the sole proprieter of a local cleaning company. I enjoy my work and the flexibility of my schedule. All around I am a pretty happy chick
