Hi All -
I have three hens - two of which are barred rocks and just started laying. The first egg from both were perfect and they used the nesting box. The issue is that one of them (Delilah) keeps dropping partially formed (soft shelled) eggs while she is roosting. I have heard this is common, but this morning, she had dropped TWO! One with a soft shell and the other was basically in a sack. Yesterday she gave us a normal egg and now two in the morning that she dropped. Should I be concerned? I also found one in the yard day before yesterday, but I assumed it was from the other barred rock (Delaney) since Delilah had dropped one from the roost that night too. I know which is dropping them by where they roost and I know it is the same one. Any ideas?
