New mama hen but no hatching

I have a first time hen who's due date is in two days. Today we had an accident and she stepped on one and unfortunately the chick passed away. I candled her 3 other eggs and they don't look promising.. how will mama react with no babies hatching? What should I do for her? Will it break her and she'll go back to normal? Don't really want to buy her chicks, even if she might accept them.

Our chickens are GREAT PETS,, but their feelings are not equal to human feelings. They act on instinct of nature. BTW,, not all chickens make good mamas. I can direct you to recent threads that show bad behavior .
Let nature take its course.
