Pretty new to everything chicken. A friend loaned us an incubator, while at the same time I let a broody sit on some. Hers all hatched and are doing great! Two of the incubated eggs hatched yesterday. At the same time, a third pipped at the pointed end and stuck its beak out. It's had it's beak hung out ever sinceand is just breathing. I freaked out so we pulled it out, quickly used tweezers to open the hole a bit and put it back.we closed the incubator in between but it was less than :30 we had this egg out. The chick is still not moving much more and now I've convinced myself that I've doomed all the others to death because we opened the incubator twice. Anyone have any words of encouragement/admonishment that I can learn from?

Losing moisture is what you worry about when you open mid-hatch. Moisture keeps the membranes from drying out. You haven't doomed the rest of the eggs- don't worry. Just keep an eye on them and when they start to hatch just watch to make sure things are progressing normally. :)
