Welcome to Backyard Chickens. I tend to believe IF no crow collars worked, NO ONE would need to rehome their roosters.

I have used homemade No- Crow collars and they didn't work too great. I have used them on two different roosters so far, and it lowered the volume a bit on one, and didn't work at all on another.

I would just rehome your cockerel. The no crow collars have killed many a bird. Try to find him a home where someone is looking for a cockerel for their flock and where he can crow to his heart's content.

Hi, Welcome to BYC, have you asked your neighbors how they'd feel about a roo? unless it's the city/county ordinance, if they don't mind, then no issue.. let them know that you had not intended to get one, they slipped it in on you. See what they say, the one's on either side of you are the ones that might object the most. try bribing them with fresh eggs when you can. I'm rural so I haven't even considered a collar and everything I've read about them basically says don't waste your money.
