New mamber

Yes. A cat {bobcat). Beautiful female around 15 kg. Very cleaver. Almost caught her once in a trap. She lost a couple of toes, but never made that mistake again. She would take my hens in broad daylight with me in the yard. I'd hear the hen, grab my rifle but to no avail. Tracked her twice for several hours until she would drop the carcass. I could feel her watching me, but never saw her.

My dog, a 140 lb Great Pyrenees mix was not interested in cats. I had disciplined him before for messing with the domestics my wife has; useless creatures in my view. In his eyes, all cat were the same.

After loosing about 12 chicken, I gave up and gave the rest of the flock to a friend. I do not keep chickens cooped. Interesting enough, later that summer the cat would bring her two kits into the yard to play while she rested in the loft of the barn. That was one smart cat.

I saw a cat a few weeks ago, have seen spore, but no problems with the chickens to date.
