(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am very new to chickens, we've had ours for about 6 weeks so they are almost ready to go outside into the coop.

2 silky Pearl's (6weeks old)
3 ISA browns (6 weeks old)
4 bantam frizzles (4-5 weeks old)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love animals and my kids LOVE to help with the chickens, so it's nice to spend time with the kids and the chickies!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, laying in my hammock,
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have kids spanning from ages 6 -21, we have 3 dogs, a cat, 2 lizards, 2 tortoises, a parrolet, and a small fresh water aquarium of shrimp.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've been reading posts on this site for over a while preparing for our chicks but wanted to be able to ask specific questions now that I actually have chickens.
