Hello fellow hobbiests!
I'm very new - although I have done a whole lot of reading about having chickens in the backyard. I don't have any chickens yet - but may have a few Silkies within weeks and definitely the other breeds (day old chicks) in February! Woohoo!
The breeds I would like to have are all Bantams such as Silkies, Buff Brahmas, Partridge Cochin.
I was so happy to find you site through my numerous google and internet searches.
I am an avid gardener and grow perennials as well as vegetables...I'm a real "greenie" and this year got into rain barrells and vermi-composting!
We newlyweds....we were married last May, and just bought our dream home in a lovely town in rural Ottawa. We have two dogs, a Golden Retriever and a little Shih Tzu, both very well behaved and lovable! We are working on the kids part! I am happy to have my husband on board with the whole chicken hobby....
