hello all. im new to raising chickens but lived in the country all my life. i built my coop last week out of materials i got for free and am looking foreward to raising some healthy chickens. we bought our first 3 yesterday. 1 buff orpington and 2 rhode island reds. i plan on getting about 17 more in the next couple days. still trying to decide what breeds i want.

I am a husband to a wonderful wife(angie) and 2 beautiful children(alexis 4, colton 1). We have a pitt bull(damien), a german shepard(sadie), and a rott/akita mix(rosie). we also have a horse(lady), cats, fish and a bunny(benjamin). can't wait to post some pics soon.
