Hi y'all

I've searched BYC from time to time looking for info but have just decided to join as a member. We started with chickens last spring and raised 10 barnyard mix chicks we bought from the flea market that turned out really well. From those 10, 6 were hens and we kept the hens along with 1 roo giving the other roos to friends. One of our hens went broody in late summer and she hatched 5 out 6 eggs which I thought was really good for a first timer that I had to keep sitting on the right nest, lol.

Our family had to be away from our home for an extended period of time and we gave our chickens to our friends just up the road. We are now ready to have some chickens once again. We hope to get a few of the young ones we hatched but I've also been looking into buying an incubator with turner so we can hatch our own.

We also hope to try our hand at khaki campbell ducks this year if I can find a source of eggs or ducklings
