I'm a new duck owner, quite by accident (our neighbors moved out and left 2 female mallards behind). I have had to scour the internet looking for advice on taking care of ducks and the one site that kept coming up with useful information was this one.

Fast forward a few months, and I have decided I love ducks! I'm ordering 6 French Muscovy ducklings sometime in the next week or so... and I figured I'd better sign up because I'm going to be picking everyone's brain.

Oh, and showing off my new babies!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to our flock. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. Definitely post on our duck section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks, and take advantage of our duck experts there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your duckling order.

I wanted ducks also but settled for chicks only. Here is why. Don't have water source. Don't want separate winter quarters for ducks. Figure that mallards would fly away on me. But I still want them. Just not equipped to take care of them. WISHING YOU THE BEST

Thanks! I'll make sure to hit up the duck forum. I'll take some pictures of my two girls (if I can get them to come out of hiding) and post them there.
