Hi Everyone!
My name is Cindi & I'm from Kauai, Hawaii. I've grown up around wild chickens all my life. If any of you have ever been to Kauai, you know that there are feral chickens all over the island! Last year during "lockdown", a little brown hen started visiting my yard with her baby chicks. I was surprised that she didn't run away when I tried to feed her. She ended up visiting again the following day and the day after that. I named her Chickadee and she eventually moved into my backyard. I always joke around that Chickadee adopted me!
I may not be a traditional chicken owner and own a chicken coop, but I do have a bunch of Kauai Chickens living in my backyard with Chickadee. I have 2 roosters, 7 hens & 9 "teenagers". Also 3 of the hens are currently mama hens and there are approximately 15 baby chicks between the three of them.
Aside from being a "crazy chicken lady" and spending time with the chickens, I enjoy are traveling, spending time outdoors, photography and reading.
I'm looking forward to being a member of the BackYard Chickens community and getting to learn more about the chickens and communicating with other chicken lovers out there!
