I have used this site for a while for info on raising backyard chickens and decided to join. While my parents have always had chickens, this is the first time my husband and I have any of our own...mainly because he eats 4 eggs a day! We have a nice little coop for the girls inside our fenced in backyard, so they get locked up at night after they roost (mainly for predator protection) and they get to free range all day. I wanted a colorful bunch so we have a BO, barred Rock, Australorp, RIR and 2 EE of different colors. We can't wait for them to start laying, hopefully it will be any day now. Their names are Mary, Clara, Laverne, Ruby, Opal and Priscilla.

Welcome to BYC, very nice flock. I am a little iffy about the bird on the ramp, red on the wings is often a color of male ee's. You may want to run this past the "what breed or gender is this," thread. How old are your birds?

The lady I got them from said they hatched on 2-16 so that would make them 21 weeks
