Hi, everybody!
I've been reading BYC forums for over a month and have learned so much! I appreciate the valuable advice and information posted. One month ago I got my first chicks: 4 Barred Rock, 2 Columbian Rock, and 2 Rhode Island Red. Who would have guessed that I would have grown so fond of them? (If you knew me for 5 minutes you would join the hundreds who answered "me, me, me!" LOL) Anyway, they are in Stage 2 of Marcy's Master Plan for Chickens...meaning they are in their custom-built heated (and [fresh] airconditioned) 4' x 4' masonite box with deluxe hardware cloth roof out on my screened porch. Stage 1 was an 18" x 36" plastic bin, and Stage 3 is the migration to the chicken coop 50' away in the next couple of weeks. Still need to build a run, and I was so glad to see the advice on that topic before I started!
Looking forward to lots of time at BYC! ~:>
Thanks again! You folks are great!
PS: They LOVE stinkbugs and are now neighborhood celebrities.
Have had requests for their services galore!! Could this be a new business for chicken owners?
