Hi! I've been lurking through these forums for a while now and finally decided to break down and make an account...
I've been raising chickens ever since I was little on my family's farm in the mountains of North Carolina. I now have a tiny flock of my own and I find that I'm somehow still learning new things everyday!
I have 6 ladies, all around 8 weeks old now, they are Barred Rocks, RIRs, and Leghorns. My favorite part about raising them is that they can be such sweet animals! We've always hatched and raised our chickens by hand and love on them so much that they will usually jump in your lap and take a nap if you give them the chance
As far as other hobbies, I am also an Illustrator who uses her chickens as muses FAR too much! I have majorly downsized from the farm life and only have a little hedgehog and a lot of plants aside from the gals, but that's always subject to change!
