welcome! We are in GA and it gets quite warm here also. I have found our fluffier hens didn't tolerate the heat as well as the sleek game hens. Guess all those fluffy feathers get hot! Could never raise any for meat myself so couldn't help you there. Ours our mainly pets and we of course love the fresh eggs. What we did is on super hot days we ran a fan near the coop which is placed in the shade and also would freeze 2ltrs full of water and lay them around out there and they would lay by them to cool off.
