USPS was supposed to deliver my new baby chicks yesterday. And did not. I googled "box of dead chicks" and someone posted one at Backyard Chickens! It was just last week, from the same hatchery, Ideal, but she was in California and I am in NY, much colder! I am stressed out, those baby chicks are going into the last few hours of the 3rd day! So in all these stress and distress, I finally decided to join Backyard Chickens!

Contact Ideal Poultry and inform them of the situation, they have a replacement policy for just such occurrences. Wish you the best of luck.

I'm upstate, west side of the Catskills out in the 'boonies'.
Every time I hear little bitty towns here, people fighting with their town boards zoning laws banning chickens, do you all realize NYC allows chickens?!!
I didn't know this till I read a article in the newspaper yrs back on how many noise complaints the NYPD gets every yr. They said roosters were tops on the city's most owned illegal animal :gig

I wish you the best of luck. There are positive experiences with having chicks shipped. But it's also nerve-wracking. I would be a nervous wreck. We started hatching our own a while ago and that's nerve-wracking enough. Anyway, welcome to Backyard chickens I am glad you decided to join us. And I am very pleased to meet you.
