We just got our first chicks from Meyers hatchery. They are 4 days old and adorable. 4 barred rocks and 4 buff orps. I so far have been very impressed with Meyers hatchery. And I love all the information on this site!

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new chicks :celebrate How exciting for you to be starting out on this new chicken adventure. I absolutely love raising chicks it's so rewarding as you watch them grow into happy healthy birds and lots of fun too, it makes for great chicken TV.

my eggs in incubator came from Meyers----I am impressed with their helpfulness. Welcome! everyone here seems nice
 
Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. I've had both Barred Rocks and Buff Orpingtons ever the years (still have BOs), and they are both great breeds; hardy, dependable layers of large brown eggs. I especially love the friendly and gentle temperament of the Buff Orps. My children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) made lap pets of them. So glad you could join BYC! Congratulations on the beginning of your chicken adventures. Bringing home new chicks can be so exciting and addicting! You picked out two nice breeds that should have very good temperaments and be excellent layers.
