Hi Everyone,

I'm a new member from Ontario Canada. I just started my very first backyard flock which consists of Plymouth Rock crosses. I'm slowly trying to see if I can figure out what my chicks are crossed with and find myself looking at the breed index a lot! Looking for anyone with some great tips for a first timer!

Well hello fellow ontarian. I live in Northern ontario.

Where abouts in Ontario do you live. I currently have a flock of 21 RIR hens. And I placed an order of 45 chicks and 10 turkeys which are due to arrive first week of june.

Well I hope you find BYC as helpful as I did, I learned a lot from this site and there is always something to learn or read about :)

Hi Ema

I'm closer to the London area! I have 18 Plymouth Rock crosses, 6 Polish, and 2 adult Barred Rock roosters. This chicken thing is very addictive. . .haha. Bought an incubator today and will get some light Sussex eggs soon! Hopefully I can hatch them successfully!

I was born and raised in Windsor, but moved to northern ontario for the peace and quiet and great fishing, plus the ability to actually have a big farm, and cheaper housing. I love it up here :)
