Hi, I'm washingtonannie, a new member of Back Yard Chickens. My family and I started our chicken foray this spring when we agreed to help raise seven chicks for our neighbor. Since the weather was so cold, we housed them in a playpen until the little buggers discovered how to escape despite the chicken wire across the top.
Without boring you with too many details, we are now keeping the seven young hens and inheriting the remaining two hens from the older flock. I'm researching as much information as possible so that our flock can be happy and healthy. I look forward to learning from everyone's personal experience.
