Hello all! I've been wanting to own chickens since I was little. A farm was the dream! Last year, my husband and I moved to where we can finally realize our dreams. After months of research, we've finally got our first ever chicks in our brooder as of today! I am excited to meet other chicken lovers, and to see all the chicken pictures. We will be raising them as egg layers and companions. I am very big on animal enrichment and have already started shopping for chicken swings and picnic tables for when they are grown. Oops. It is nice to meet you all!

Does "mystery" count? Haha! I had ordered through Hoover's Hatchery on their "rare breeds". Since we're keeping them as companions, I thought an assortment would be nice to try to tell them apart. They're mostly all black with a variation of white or yellow markings! We do have two or three really fluffy grey babies too.

Yes, absolutely! I was shocked they all looked so similar, but at the same time there's such variety in the little markings. It's going to be so fun watching them grow. We're going to take photos every week to see how they change! We're going to need a lot more names picked out though. 🤣
