Hello to BYC family!

After lurking the site for the last 5-6 months as we got started with our first chickens, we decided it was in our best interests (and our chickens') to become members and glean from the wisdom we have found here.

We are a family of nine with one Great Dane, two guinea pigs, and 27 chickens, mostly Barred Rock. I don't think we really understood that raising chickens would be so fun! Sure, there's plenty of work involved, but my...aren't they so darn cute?!

We hope to contribute as we gain years of experience, but for now, we are the newbies and ready to learn. We look forward to getting to know you.
