New Member! Help me please identify

We are new at this whole chicken thing. We ordered brown egg layers and have ended up with 8 roosters. Need to sell, but what are they?

Yes, red sexlink rooster, which is a hybrid.

They did come from a hatchery. Is a sex link the same as a Red Star? Red Stars are on the list of possibilities from my brown egg layer order.

Red Stars are one of the names for sexlinks, yes.

If you ordered brown egg layers, you ordered pullets, and the hatchery owes you money or another order of chickens. Pullets, that is. Call them -- most are cooperative about these things.

Well, I am assuming ALL you have is 8 roosters. If you also have a bunch of pullets, then the roos might have just been the packing peanuts. I guess you know that sexing is only about 90% accurate.

Ya'll have been a great help already. We ended up with 8 roosters out of 41. We were warned there might be some roosters.
