(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have had back yard chickens for just about 2 years.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now, we have 18 chickens. 5 hens, 2 roosters. 7 chicks we hatched 2 months ago. And 4 chicks we just got in the mail

(3) What breeds do you have?
3 Easter Egger hens
1 Americauna Rooster
2 Barred Rock hens
1 Barred Rock rooster
The 7 two month old are cross breeds with the Americauna rooster, and hens. They are going to be SO pretty! One of them is all black feathers with a greenish sheen, she even has mostly black beak & legs.
The 4 newborns are Columbian Wyandotte Bantam chickens.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching their antics and interactions

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Hiking

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or
anything else you'd like to share.
We live in a very very small town in SE Montana. My daughter mostly takes care of the chickens. But her and my husband have built the coops together. We also have 2 cats and two dogs - a white lab & a golden Retriever. I've worked at the local hospital as a registered nurse for just over 16 years

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just learned about the website on Google
