I live upstate new York fir a couple of years and started raising chickens last year. I currently have 12 hens. Six black Sex Links, one of each Golden Comet, Rhode Island Red, Plymouth Rock, Silver Laced Wyandotte, special needs cross beaked Easter Egger, and a Buff Orpington who is currently ill. I'll post details on another thread. I had them free ranging until recently until their range started extending into the neighbor's yard. They currently have about 2000 sq ft of fenced area which is partially wooded.
No other pets at the present time, but plan to get some other animals including a dog in the near future. I'm nearly done renovating the house and trying get a homestead going here which is a struggle on this land. My other passion is fly fishing which there hasn't been too much time for lately.
