Hello, I am new to the "Backyard" and absolutely love it. I have been reading for hours here and have found so much helpful information. I am getting ready for my first adoption of 5-6 baby chicks in September. My city raised husband isn't completely sold on the idea but is trying to be helpful. Worked all day in the hot Arizona heat of 109 to convert an old 7x10 shed into the hen house. Planning on the run being 10x12.(possibly divided for raising broilers separate from my girls). Hope to have some pics soon. We live in Apache Junction and appreciate being close to the wilderness but will have to install extra security. Coyotes have already taken two of the cats. We have 1 Lhasa Apso, 2 cats and the plans of 5 beautiful egg laying hens.
