Hi-My name is Wendy and I joined BYC today

I'm happy to be here and hope to learn a lot from the more experienced poultry people here.

I have had chickens off and on for the last 10 years. We also raise Boer goats on our little 5 acre farm.
Last year we decided to add chickens again after not having them for several years. I currently have 16 laying hens of various breeds. This year I have gone a little chicken crazy. My husband says I have OCD (Obsessive Chicken Disorder). I have added somewhere around 50 chicks to my "little" flock along with 7 Royal Palm turkeys and 2 Embden geese. My additions this year are BLR Wyandottes (standard and bantam), Cream Brabanters, Silver Spangled Spitzhaubens, Spangled Russian Orloffs, Speckled Sussex, Black Stars, Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons, Olive Eggers, Blue Copper Marans, Swedish Flower Hens, Salmon Faverolles, Splash Andalusians, Dominiques, Silver Sebrights, Silkies, Silver Kraienkoppes, Sultans and Frizzles.

Welcome to BYC! You will find lots of good information on this site. That's quite a mixed flock you have there--kind of like some of the flocks that I used to have in my younger days when I seemingly had almost a little of almost everything. Good luck with your flock.
 
welcome to BYC - you have gathered up some really lovely breeds. I think it's great- it's good for discovering which breeds you like the best and which to let go. No one on here will ever tell you, that you have too many chickens. There just is NO such thing. Enjoy

My philosophy is if you always eat vanilla ice cream you'll never discover all the other delicious flavors. I guess you can tell I am an ice cream addict.
