Hi! I have been utilizing this Forum for about a week now so thought I'd better get to the New Member Introduction!!!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to chickens, about a week now. I have loved chickens all my life!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Last week my daughter brought three chicks home, then I added two more from the feed store.

(3) What breeds do you have? The feed store chicks are Ameracunas pullets and the others are undetermined...I'll get back to you on that!

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Through panic, I found the website from a Google search.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Anything involving family recreation and travel.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Married to an amazingly supportive man for 28 years, mom of two, entering college in the fall, studying pre-nursing, want to be an RN.

We need to build a container quickly! I'm looking at a tractor style, like the barn red one posted. I think that'll do just fine. Later on, if I go crazy with this, I'd like to convert an existing storage barn into a chicken house...I like the idea of chickens running in the yard, too, but my Labrador needs time to adjust to the fact they're part of the family, too. Step by step!

Thanks for reading this! Have a great day

Hi welcome I am in Orlando....what feed store do you goto? All I have close is Palmers in the city...They are nice tho...I got 2 chicken hens from them about 4 weeks ago! Hope all goes well. We are just finishing the coop and run...this was thier first night out in it and they did good...I had to check all night tho!!

Send a picture of your coop and pens when you can! I'm developing our plans this morning...my Lab stepped on one of the chicks last night, totally my fault

I think I'm going to utilize an existing eyesore pumphouse and turn it into the hen house, maybe mount it on wheels chicken tractor style...with a pen that I can hook up to it so I can move it around the yard based on seasonal conditions. Like to the garage during a hurricane!!!!!
Good luck with your plans!
