Hi you'uns! We're fairly new to chickens, but are learning as quickly as we can and enjoying every minute of it. The chickens started as a project for my grandkids and I to do on the farm ... and I think everyone has fallen in love. We started with 6 red sexlinks (the closest we could get to a "purple" chickens as my 2 yr old granddaughter wanted), but were already in the process of looking into some heritage breeds. We now have 4 dominiques, 3 buff orps and 3 Easter eggers (EE's property of my 4 yr old grandson). Our reds have just started laying - at least 2 of them have, but the "little girls" won't be old enough until near Christmas time. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you! I'm also looking to get a flock of 25 - 30 Australorps very soon if anyone has any they want to part with, and possibly another 3 - 6 EE's. If not, i will order as chicks. Anyhow, hello to everyone!

from UT! Careful with those dominiques, ours are a combination of pest and diva (but we wouldn't know what to do without them)!
