have a variety of critters in my flock -- geese, ducks, chickens, great Pyrenees dog and an emu. started with the chickens because my daughter wanted fresh eggs to serve her daughter. after I got the chickens my daughter's boyfriend decided they needed to move out and get a place of their own so I started selling eggs to my coworkers. got an emu over a year ago when she was two weeks old. she stayed in the house until she was about 4 months old. put her in the yard and the chickens, ducks and geese went crazy with the new arrival. Eventually everyone got acquainted with each other and all settled down.
