Hi BYC'ers,

I started a new flock from day old chicks 2 weeks ago with 2 Easter Eggers and added another 2 Australorps a week ago.,
I am still finishing the coop/run area but hope to be done this weekend, weeks before they will want to move in.
First I thought I should get ready to lay pullets to avoid the hassle with raising them but after a few days I realized what a great experience this is to see them grow up. They are the most adorable creatures!

Welcome!

I too love your avatar pic .. such a cute expression on that adorable little face!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

That's SweetP in my avatar pic. I just introduced the 2 Australorps to her and she wasn't quite sure what to make of it yet. So she does indeed look a bit startled. She's a darling though and has adopted them within minutes, taking on a motherly role while being a youngster herself. What a girl!
