I just found this site today, and I'm already hooked! We inherited 7 hens and a rooster a year ago when some friends moved. We love those crazy birds with their unique personalities. Yesterday we went to TSC and bought 6 chicks, and my kids are head-over-heels in love with the babies. I assume they're about a week old because they've got wing feathers, and that's what I was seeing when I googled pix of week-old chicks. We got 3 RIR and 3 that are fluffy yellow but will be white when they're grown (can't remember what the breed is!)
I've been reading posts non-stop for about 3 hours, and LOVE this website. Thanks to you all for the helpful information I've gained today, and thanks in advance for all the future help I'm sure I'll need as we raise our chicks.
