(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, new to chickens! Woo hooooo! Got our ladies as day old chicks in April.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Five.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Cochin (Rosie Cotton): 1- fancy pants. Got a Cochin because they were supposed to be good "lap chickens"... not so much : (
Golden Buff (Goldberry): 1- friendly and curious
Blue Favaucana (Luthien and Arwen): 2- beautiful but skittish.
Barred Rock (Eowyn): 1- My favorite (shhhhh). She whistles to me and is very friendly... seems like an old soul : )
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
A few years ago while dreaming of chicken ownership and surfing the net, living vicariously through actual chicken owners.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, brewing beer, art, music, animals
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Husband and I taught ESL in Korea for seven years. Returned May 2016 with our three rescue cats. Have a rescue dog as well. Just bought a house in March and can FINALLY have chickens! Woohoo! Living in beautiful New Hampshire and enjoying being back in the States although my job is still in Asia; I work from home, teaching English to Chinese students via the internet.
