(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got chickens late October of last year (21/10/2018).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have four: Roos, Melon, Kip, and Poofy.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm not sure what breeds they are, I got them from a chicken auction and their breed was not written on the box. Poofy kind of looks like a Lavender Ameraucana though! Just poofier.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My favourite parts of having chickens is having something to look after. Even though sometimes it feels like a bit of a drag having to clean and fill their containers everyday, I still enjoy having them. I also like being able to put a personality to each chicken and watch them scratch around.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like drawing, reading, learning (but not school!) and seeing my friends.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a family of six and we live in Australia. Before having chickens I had goldfish, Guinea pigs, and zebra finches. I'm still a student
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found it on the internets. I used it for some months before finally deciding to join - and I'm glad I have!
