it's a little overdue as i've been lurking here & learning a lot already. i live in southeast connecticut with my husband & my mom. we have 3 coonhounds, a housecat, & two aquariums. i love outdoor gardening & we're planning some permaculture changes to our yard/homestead/whatever over the next few years.
i've decided on geese! i do have poultry experience from my youth & have worked in animal care fields for decades. i've been reading & learning for about a year & i'm excited to get started. i plan on only 2 females to start. i've tried to research breeds, over & over, & over. my mind keeps me up at night debating various trade-offs between varieties. so any input is appreciated.
from what i've gained here & elsewhere, two female, brooder raised, goslings "should" remain friendlier as adults, than if a gander were also present. at this point, i can see no use for one as my goals are for pets, eye candy, yard company, & maybe some eggs.
thank you all for your knowledge & i look forward to learning much more from you all!
