We are new to chickens and will receive our chicks the week of April 24. :D We will have 10 hens and a rooster. We are getting the BJGiant Rooster and two hens (Daisy & Dottie). Two Bielefelders (Irma and Etta :D) and five Plymouths (haven't decided on names yet).

We have been anticipating our chickens and have built a 12x25 run for them with the coop inside. My husband and I are excited!! We have two grown children, and four dogs, Zeke, a black 11-week German Shepherd puppy, a 9 yo Chiweenie named Sophie, a 12 yo yellow lab, Molly, and a 12-yo Lab/Retriever mix named JJ.

My husband and I like to garden and enjoy being at home.

Your BJs Giant Rooster doesn't look like this, does he?
