(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I had chickens a few years back and it was supposed to be temporary a friend messaged me and said they had a new easter egger hen who was being badly bullied in her flock, she asked if Id take her and fix her up and then we'd look for a new flock for her once she was ready. From the moment I got her in the car she had this big bold personality and I was immediately in love, I called her Karma-Belle. Karma-Belle obviously was never going to leave within a few months I had 3 more ameuracana x's and then some silkies.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently I have 4.
(3) What breeds do you have?
All silkies
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love their personalities and dynamics, all of them are so different and they are just so loving, I also love the benefits they have on our yard.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I work at a boarding kennel/daycare, as well as help out at a dog groomer and do petsitting and dog walking which takes up most of my time. I am also in the TRU sustainable ranching program so for the half the year I live and work on a cow/calf operation.
