My family has been working on our little homestead and added chickens this year.
We currently have 13 laying hens, a silky hen that's not laying yet, 2 roos, 11 new flock members, and 3 hatchlings.
We have mystic onyx, black sexlinks, mille de fleur, silkies, Olive eggers, lavender orpington, Starlight green eggers, Crevecoeurs, polish, Appenzeller spitzhauben, Speckled sussex, australorps, and backyard mixes.
We have a 3 year old and a 4 month old. Our daughter loves to help take care of the chickens, especially feeding them and collecting eggs. It's fun to watch her learn so many valuable lessons through chickens.
I enjoy foraging and making homemade tinctures and remedies. I also am an artist. I stay at home and raise our children and tend to our animal babies.
