Hi,
I don't have any chickens yet . A good friend has two housepet(totally) chickens, but no computer. In the course of searching out chicken info for her, I became seriously addicted to the Backyard Chickens Forum. I frequently pass along the advice I've been reading whether she wants to hear it or not. She and her husband had chickens in the "olden days," and isn't much for the new fangeled ways of raising them. But, I think she will come around.
I used to raise and show Cocker Spaniels, write for dog magazines etc. Then started growing african violets. Had a detour of several years raising my son. Then back to plants, for the past 5-6 years I have been growing and hybridizing Streptocarpus plants (related to african violets).
Love dogs, love nature, love Backyard Chickens forum - I have been lurking for a couple of months, not sure if I belong since I don't have chickens. Does it count that I have two "God chickens," Sheba & Tiffany - both black silies.
I am presently "out to pasture,' in a Chicago suburb.
