(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
me and my family are fairly new to chickens. i had a step-grandma who raised chickens on her farm, but i didn't go often, so my contact with chickens was limited util recently. we got our first buff orphingtons on june 5th, but my dogs got to em and they sadly passed away two weeks later ;_;

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

right now we have three little fluff-balls that are all a week old as of today!

(3) What breeds do you have?

we have two salmon favorolles named Cinnamon and Rosemary that belong to my little sisters, and one black austrolorp named Pepper who's mine. (yes we know naming them after spices and herbs is a lil messed up, but aren't the names so cute?✨ )

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

i only ever got about two weeks into the process of raising chicks, but so far my favorite aspect of raising them is just seeing their personalities! the orphingtons that belonged to my sisters were so so sweet and amazing with kids, strangers or not. i cant say the same about the salmon favorolles as theyre terrified of being picked up or touched at all,, but theyre just absolutely nuts which is hilarious!! theyre so energetic and love to skip and run around at supersonic speed... theres truly never a dull moment with them!! as for my little girl Pepper, she is so calm and polite (for chick standards of course) and has almost no problem with being held. 💗 also her coloring looks so much like a penguin which has deemed her the adorable nickname "Happy Feet".

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

my other hobbies include reading, drawing, sculpting, embroidery, woodworking, and video games. 🎮

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

i have two dogs who are both mutts, named Troy and Cisco (his name is short for San Francisco. very geographic names... are you seeing a pattern here? lolol).

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

ive known about byc for about a month now, usually just looking at threads when i need answers for something or when im curious about other peoples chickens. i decided to join because i knew i eventually would, but after im done with this i need to ask a question about one of my chickies. thanks for having me! have a nice day :3
