Hello. I've had chickens for around 23 years. Started with 4 Easter chicks given to me. From them it was buff orpingtons, then dominiques, and now the 27 salmon faverolles chicks I got 4 & 5 weeks ago. The 1 old buff rooster and guinea are around 10 years old and still healthy. Except when starting new breeds I've built my flocks with mother hens. I chose the salmons this time for the traits that best suit my climate and situation and they're on the endangered list.
I spend as much time as I can with the grandkids but they're older city kids and not too much into grandma's farm lifestyle. So, it's the dogs and cats and me!
I've come to BYC many times over the years and found answers to my questions. Thank you!
