Hello, my name is Sabrina and I’m the owner operator of Cedar Point Poultry located in Crown Point, IN. I have roughly 320 birds ranging from free ranging roosters, Breeders, egg layers, grow outs and chicks. I mostly breed heritage breeds used as dual purpose birds for eggs and meat. My breeds consist of English BBS, Lavender and Chocolate Orpington, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, F1 Olive Egger, and Ayem Easter Eggers. I also have a few bantam breeds for pets and small eggs, porcelain d’Uccle and painted and black silkies with frizzle gene present.
I’ve always had animals my whole
Life and started breeding hamsters when I was 12 years old. From reptiles, dogs, cats and plants of all kinds, its what I have a natural passion for and comes naturally to me. Being a farmer at heart, my husband and I sought out to find some property we could combine my entrepreneurial mind with my creating and nurturing spirit. I’ve been building my flock for 2 years and this 3rd year I have started breeding and selling my chicks. I’m constantly trying to learn and grow to provide the most beautiful, well tempered, color consistent and always striving for SOP.
I really don’t have a lot of free time right now but my hobbies are gardening if I can. I have 2 kids 23 and 14 and 2 beautiful grand babies. I have been Married almost 5 years and committed for 18.
I have been referring to this group for several years now and thought it would make sense to finally become a member to take part in some awesome conversations about chickens. Thanks so much for having such an awesome forum for people to go to when they need help, advice and insight.
