Hello..
I just registered here today looking for some advice on chicken keeping.
I am married , have a know-it-all teenager and a super husband.
We also have 4 cats and a dog that has my husband wrapped around her little paw. ( that dog gets called more mushy names than I ever did.)
We all live in Tennessee ..but thats another story

So.. we are thinking about a few chicks and maybe a rooster.(rooster is a big maybe tho.. yet)
We have to build the house and run yet tho.. and I want to get more info about chickens before I get some and then kill them by accident with food or something else
So.. here I am .. 43 year old female with family and no clue on chickens....
He likes the banthams ( bantys??) since he had some when he grew up.I am non partial to any of them.I think all chickens are just neat and they make me giggle when they fuss and carry on,. Plus I think chickens are way smarter than people think. And maybe some fresh eggs once a week would be cool too.
Anyway.. I am glad to have found this .. the info on here is vast and plenty..

Enjoy your searching/learning!!

Welcome! I am pretty new at this as well and though I don't HAVE a teenager, I do TEACH them every day. I would say that based on my limited 4 weeks of chicken experience, 7 chickens are much easier to reason with and care for

Good luck!
