I wanted to wait until spring to start chickens but one cold evening this stray rooster decided to move into my shed. Got him set up. He's nice...polite even. But i dont know what breed or mix he is. Help is appreciated. I want to get him some girlfriends come spring.

Welcome to BYC! Congrats on your new rooster. Check out hatcheries list! You might like for spring. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/poultry-hatcheries-list.1271562/#post-20438569

Check out the Learning Center:

Lots of people do shed modifications for coop. Half coop/half storage. Check out coop sections.

If want info. on breeds and what to consider for choices see this article with breed chart inside.

Have fun! You might want a female gamebird or a mix of breeds.

If might help if we could see him standing - so know what kind of legs he has under him.
Short/long - what color legs & feet - clean legged or feathered etc. You can also post his photo at "what breed or gender is this." for many professional opinions.
